Why LurexBio

Built for the step today’s immunotherapies depend on.

LurexBio is designed to work upstream of today’s immunotherapies, at the recognition step they depend on. Its modular architecture is intended to support multiple programs, partnerships, and licensing opportunities on one shared platform.

01 · The market

One of the largest, fastest-growing markets in healthcare.

$441Bprojected global spending on cancer medicines in 2029

Spending grew 75% in the five years to 2024. The 2019 value is implied by that growth rate.

02 · The gap

Immunotherapy has proven its value, but most patients still don’t benefit.

$31.7B2025 sales of a single checkpoint inhibitor, Keytruda

  • 12.5%estimated to respond
  • 31.2%eligible, but not expected to respond
  • 56.4%not eligible

Share of US patients with cancer, checkpoint inhibitors, 2018. Each square is 1%.

Recognition engineering is designed to address one reason many tumors don’t respond: the immune system can’t see them.

03 · Our starting point

Two of the hardest-to-treat cancers, with high unmet need.

108KUS deaths expected in 2026 from colorectal and pancreatic cancer combined

~95%of metastatic colorectal cancers are MSS, a largely immune-cold setting

04 · The timing

Large pharma needs what comes next.

$500B+in worldwide drug sales at risk from patent expiry, 2026 to 2032

  • 2028Keytruda approaches patent expiry, with $99B in industry sales at risk that year alone

Our founder

James Clark

Founder & Inventor · Stage IV cancer survivor

LurexBio was founded at the intersection of personal urgency and disciplined inquiry. During treatment for advanced cancer, James undertook an intensive, multi-year study of immunology and emerging therapeutic technologies, seeking to understand why the immune system fails to recognize many solid tumors.

That investigation led to a core insight: in many cancers, the limitation is not the strength of the immune response, but the absence of effective recognition. From that idea grew a structured platform architecture and the foundation of LurexBio’s approach.

“The search for answers began as one person’s fight for survival and became a mission to help others. Science gave me clarity, collaboration gave me direction, determination gave me purpose.”James Clark, Founder
